Methods to Create Various Voucher Specimens

The extensive voucher collection of INVAM accessions is one of the most important assets of the collection. It provides the physical documentation to define these accessions by conventional taxonomic criteria and to monitor stability or changes in morphological properties over time or when propagated in different hosts, soils, or culture protocols. The taxonomic benefit is considerable, since about 20% of the current stocks cannot be assigned Latin binomials, and many others have uncertain synonymy with described species.
