Diversisporaceae - C. Walker & Schüßler


Spores are glomoid, some of which form a peridium branching from the subtending hypha that can result in small clusters (2-3 spores). This family was erected based solely on SSU gene sequence divergence from other clades, with representative sequences being GGCTCATTYGRRTYTS, ACYCATTRYCAGGCTTAAT, and TTGGCATTTAGYCA corresponding to homologous positions 487, 648 and 1389, respectively, of the S. cerevisiae SSU gene sequence J01353 (Walker and Schüßler, 2004).
